A photograph of Max Gladstone, a bearded white man wearing a flatcap and hipster-ish glasses, with a blurred landscape behind him

Max Gladstone is the New York Times bestselling author of the Craft Sequence, among other cool projects.

In his own words:

Hugo, Nebula, and Locus Award–winning author, MAX GLADSTONE, has been thrown from a horse in Mongolia and once wrecked a bicycle in Angkor Wat. He is the author of many books, including Last Exit, Empress of Forever, the Craft Sequence of fantasy novels and, with Amal El-Mohtar, the viral New York Times bestseller This Is How You Lose the Time War. His dreams are much nicer than you’d expect.

We’ve pulled together every Gladstone interview and Reddit AMA that we could find - check them out here!

As this site has the lofty goal of examining all aspects of the Craft Sequence, at times Gladstone will be discussed, primarily in relation to interviews and statements about the Craft Sequence itself.

Although he seems like a pretty cool guy, this is not intended as a fansite for Gladstone himself, and we do not plan to discuss him as a person (we don’t know him other than the usual parasocial relationship one has with people on social media, and the fact that he very kindly agreed to an interview) or report on any details of his life outwith* the Craft Sequence.

If you're reading this after May 2023, Gladstone is now a New York Times bestselling author along with Amal El-Mohtar for This Is How You Lose The Time War. Shoutout to Bigolas Dickolas Wolfwood for starting the Time War renaissance!

(*outwith is a Scottish word that deserves to be used more widely. We will not be taking questions at this time.)
